🍽️ Dining: Walt Disney World vs Disneyland Paris
If you’re anything like us, food is a huge part of your Disney holiday. It’s not just about grabbing a quick bite between rides – some of our favourite family memories have been made around the dinner table after a busy day in the parks! ❤️
Having visited both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris several times, this is one area where I honestly think Walt Disney World is in a league of its own. The choice is incredible, the theming is next level, and thanks to the Disney Dining Plan, we’ve been able to enjoy restaurants that we’d probably never have booked otherwise.
🍴 Walt Disney World’s Disney Dining Plan
One of the biggest reasons we now choose to stay in a Deluxe Disney Resort is because it includes the full Disney Dining Plan. Now our children are older, they get just as excited about where we’re eating as they do about which rides we’re going on! 🎢🍔
For many 2027 UK holiday packages, the Disney Dining Plan is included with your stay, depending on which Disney Resort hotel you book. It can save families hundreds – and in some cases well over £1,000 – making it one of the best-value perks of staying on Disney property. 💰
What I love most is that it completely changes the way we plan our holiday. Instead of looking at restaurant prices and wondering whether we can justify them, we simply book the places we’ve always wanted to try.
Honestly, I know we’ve eaten at restaurants that we’d never have paid for if we’d been paying out of pocket. Those meals have ended up being some of our favourite memories, so for us, the Dining Plan has been worth every penny. ✨
🍕 So… what can you actually eat?
Depending on which Dining Plan you receive, you’ll get a mixture of:

It makes budgeting so much easier because a huge chunk of your food bill is already sorted before you’ve even flown to Florida. ✈️
🥐 Disneyland Paris Meal Plans
Disneyland Paris also offers meal plans, but they’re quite different.
Rather than being included with most UK holiday offers, they’re usually an optional extra that you pay for when booking.
If I’m honest, we’ve never actually bought one.
Every time we’ve looked at the price, it just hasn’t felt like good value for our family. We’ve always ended up eating at the quick-service restaurants instead, especially as many of the table-service restaurants felt similar to meals we’d already enjoyed as part of our Disney Dining Plan in Orlando.
That said… I think our next trip might be different! 🤭
Now our children are a bit older, PYM Kitchen is definitely calling our name. The Marvel theme and fun buffet look brilliant, so that’s high on our list next time we visit. 🦸🍽️
🌍 Restaurant Choice
This is where Walt Disney World really leaves Disneyland Paris behind.
Across the four theme parks, Disney Springs, the water parks and Disney Resort hotels, you’ll find over 200 restaurants, lounges and quick-service locations.
Disneyland Paris has around 70 restaurants and quick-service locations across the parks, Disney Village and the Disney Hotels.
That difference really shows.
Some of our family favourites are Chef Mickey’s 🐭, Tusker House 🦒 and Coral Reef Restaurant 🐠. Every one of them offers a completely different experience, and that’s what makes dining at Walt Disney World so special.
Even after all our visits, we’ve still got a long list of restaurants we’d love to try. I don’t think we’ll ever run out! 😍
👑 Character Dining
If you’ve got Disney-mad children (or you’re a Disney-mad adult! 🙋♀️), character dining is something I’d recommend at least once.
There’s just something so magical about Mickey stopping at your table for a cuddle or watching your children’s faces light up when their favourite characters appear. Those moments become some of the best memories from the whole holiday. ❤️
One thing I really love is that many Walt Disney World character meals can be booked using your Dining Plan table-service credits. It makes those magical experiences feel so much more affordable.
Disneyland Paris also has some lovely character dining experiences, but there are fewer to choose from and, depending on your meal plan, you may need to pay an extra supplement.

🥤 Refillable Resort Mug
This might sound like such a small thing, but our refillable resort mugs have become part of our arrival day tradition.
As soon as we’ve checked in, one of the first things we do is collect our mugs. It genuinely feels like the holiday has officially started! 🎉
Every single morning we stop to fill them up before heading out and, if you know… you know… the Powerade machine is always our first stop! 😂💙
It’s one of those little Disney extras that probably sounds insignificant until you’ve experienced it yourself.
Sadly, Disneyland Paris doesn’t offer anything similar, and it’s definitely something we miss whenever we’re there.
🏆 Which Offers Better Value?
For us, this one isn’t even close.
Disneyland Paris has some lovely places to eat, and if you’re only visiting for a couple of days, the quick-service options are absolutely fine.
But if you’re planning a longer Disney holiday and love making dining part of the experience, Walt Disney World is on another level. ✨
The Disney Dining Plan has introduced us to restaurants we’d probably never have booked ourselves, we’ve made brilliant family memories over character breakfasts and themed dinners, and we still haven’t worked our way through everywhere we want to eat.
Throw in over 200 restaurants, refillable resort mugs, incredible character dining and the fantastic value of the Disney Dining Plan, and Walt Disney World comfortably takes the win for us. 🏰💙
