My Journey to the Mouse

Hi, I’m Nikki, the creator of Orlando From UK ✨ I’m a travel blogger from Manchester and a mum to two boys. I’ve been visiting Orlando since my very first trip in 1995, and over the years I’ve fallen in love with everything the destination has to offer – from Disney and Universal to the incredible hotels, restaurants and family experiences that keep us coming back year after year ✨

I created Orlando From UK because I noticed that much of the Orlando planning advice available online is written from a US perspective. While that information can be helpful, UK families often have very different questions when planning a trip. School holidays, flights, dining plans, budgeting, travel documents and even trip length can all be different when you’re travelling from the UK.

My aim is simple: to provide honest, practical and up-to-date Orlando advice specifically for UK travellers ✨

My Orlando Experience

I’ve been visiting Orlando for almost 30 years and have experienced the destination at many different stages of life – from family holidays as a child to planning trips with my own children ✨

One of my favourite Orlando memories was taking my youngest son for the first time in 2021 and watching him completely amazed by the Lion King area at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Seeing Orlando through a child’s eyes is something truly special ✨

Over the years, I’ve learned that every family enjoys Orlando differently. In fact, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that not all children love rides – my eldest certainly doesn’t! That’s why I believe the best Orlando holidays are the ones built around your family’s interests rather than trying to do everything.

Disney and Universal Around the World ✨

One of the things that makes my perspective a little different is that I’ve been fortunate enough to visit every Disney park in the world ✨ That includes:

Walt Disney World, Florida
Disneyland Resort, California
Disneyland Paris
Tokyo Disney Resort
Hong Kong Disneyland
Shanghai Disney Resort

I’ve also visited Universal parks around the world, including:

Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Studios Singapore
Universal Beijing Resort

Experiencing Disney and Universal destinations across multiple countries has given me a unique perspective on what makes Orlando such a special holiday destination for UK families ✨

My Favourites ✨

Favourite Disney Park: Animal Kingdom
Favourite Universal Park: Islands of Adventure
Favourite Luxury Disney Resort: Wilderness Lodge
Favourite Value Family Resort: Art of Animation

Why I Started Orlando From UK

I launched Orlando From UK to help families plan better holidays with information that’s relevant to UK travellers ✨ Whether you’re wondering when to visit, how school holidays affect crowd levels, or whether a Disney Dining Plan is worth it, I’m here to help you make informed decisions and avoid common planning mistakes ✨

I regularly follow Orlando news, special offers and planning updates, and I visit both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando to keep my advice as accurate and useful as possible ✨

My Top Orlando Tip

If there’s one piece of advice I give every family, it’s this: Download the My Disney Experience app as early as possible ✨ It’s one of the most powerful planning tools available and can make managing your Disney holiday much easier before and during your trip ✨

Thank You for Visiting

Whether you’re planning your very first Orlando holiday or you’re a seasoned visitor looking for the latest updates, I hope Orlando From UK helps you plan an unforgettable trip ✨
